Communication and Vocal skills for NQTs.
This course is designed for NQTs, who wish to develop their communication skills, and who want to use
their voices effectively whilst not developing sore throats or vocal tiredness.
These are some skills that will be covered in the course:
- To provide delegates with skills to use their
voices in a healthy way within the workplace.
- To develop strategies for using their voices
in effective ways.
- Through feedback from other delegates, to gain
knowledge of effective presenting and teaching styles.
- Pacing yourself, to maintain vocal freshness
and prevent sore throats, lost voice etc.
- Maintaining focus, mentally and physically with
the voice, whilst there are distractions in the classroom.
- Relaxation, warm up, posture and breathing techniques
for good vocal production.
Through a series of practical exercises, NQTs will explore and develop their own skills and hidden talents with the
opportunity to take risks and try out new communications styles in a safe and confidential environment. This course offers
a unique opportunity for teachers to take time out from the pressures of the classroom to focus on their personal, as well
as professional development. All participants will be given a CD which summarises the course.
